The Chainlink

So with all of the new pavement on the northside, I'm questioning on why they did not stripe all of the new pavement prior to this rapid cool down with our weather. Does anyone know what is going on because it is quite the clusterf and someone will seriously get hurt soon out there because it seems that no one knows what to do.

First picture: a post in the middle of the trail is brilliant. Particularly with nothing very illuminating around it. And nothing reflective on it.

Second picture: the green paint seems to have some wet grip, but the white paint on it and at the circle a short way south is very slick. Reminds me of a road rally I volunteered at in Tennessee several years ago. The end of a stage was right after a sharp turn and after a brief rain one motorcycle after another slid off into the trees before reaching the finish.

Not having at least the white lines on the outside edges of the LFT is a hazard, especially in the sections that have no lights, or are without functioning  lights.  I caught the edge of the trail just south of the Buena curve, but luckily managed to not go down in the complete darkness the first evening after the time change.

Wait...is this thread implying that the trail is finally open again from Ardmore all the way down to downtown??

It seems to be, yes. There's still stuff to be done (paint, signs, landscaping), but for the most part, it all seems to be operable. There's work being done on the alternate pedestrian portions in a few spots. Also sporadic work on the main sections (evening out bumps, intersections, manhole covers, etc). But on the whole, it's open and it's smooth riding. Just a little dark in parts.

The lights have seemed to be on the past few days just north of Fullerton, so that's progress. Though a few individual lights are still out.

Ah, “evening out bumps,” they’re the best!
