Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

9 am, not the normal time, from Fullerton & the lake, not the usual location. no rush during the week, it's completely different than on the weekend. just posted, not even approved yet.

What time are you thinking about starting on Friday?  I'm sitting at only 106 miles for the year - so hopefully an easy ride?

Comment by bobweiser on March 24, 2018 at 9:36am

I was thinking next Sat. 3/31 for the Third Step Ride, but it turns out that's when the Dark Lord Day ticket free-for-all will be:

TICKETS
on sale March 31 @ noon CDT

Part of me thinks it would be fun to bring my laptop and try to get tickets while there, but another part of me thinks their wifi might get overloaded, tethering might not be so reliable, or fast, etc.

Plus, "a couple of showers possible".

Anybody else able to get away on (Good) Fri. 3/30?

Speaking of Kenosha, is anyone going to the Velodrome swap 3/24?

Comment by Jared on March 8, 2018 at 3:59pm

Ah, another place to stop to if I get thirsty on the way to Kenosha.
