Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

lake bluff tomorrow, anyone?
Yup, and I'll be there that weekend with friends (22nd-24th) for Lakefront Brewery on Friday night (fish fry / polka), Saturday biking around to various breweries and the Cubs/Brewers game in the evening, and Sunday back. Taking the 5:08 Hiawatha out on Friday from Union and the 5:45 P.M. back on Sunday in case any CBES members find themselves up north that weekend as well.
Serge, if you wait two weeks it will be Doors Open Milwaukee (their version of Open House).
Thanks Jared. Just mapped it to pass right by Penrose! www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/1766027306
Mark, that would be Penrose, never been to the other but people that have don't seem to speak to highly of it.
FYI, it's today! https://twitter.com/hashtag/nationalbeerloversday
Have fun Serge! (btw, your route is not public). I'll be camping out near Dixon, IL and plan to bike home on Sun. (+Metra). I assume Forge Brewhouse in Sycamore is worth a stop? And I hope to have time for a pint before train. Which is best recommended in Geneva, Stockholm's or Penrose?
it went well, thanks for asking. archer is so much more pleasant with the wind at your back. :-)
Winds W at 15 to 25 mph, so go W? imperial oak? Labor Day Hours - Monday 9/4 - 12pm-9pm.
