The Chainlink

Hello everyone! Have you heard? There's bike races coming to Big Marsh Bike Park! I am super excited to be racing in the Big Marsh Short Track Series, beginning tomorrow night, however I am not 100% sure what the best route to Big Marsh is. "Best" meaning least aggressive rush hour traffic, and wide enough to navigate around parked cars/opening doors.

Google is suggesting the LFP to Jeffery -> 98th -> what appears to be a service drive off of Van Vlissingen -> 102nd -> Crandon -> 103rd -> Doty -> Stony Island

OR Halsted -> 71st -> MLK -> 103rd -> Doty -> Stony Island

Which route do you prefer? Do you have any suggestions? I recall a group cycling down to Big Marsh for the Opt Outside event in November, but there is not a route map on the old event page.

On that note, if you're racing/spectating tomorrow and would like to roll with company, I'll be departing from Damen and Webster at 4pm, ~15mph pace, and hopefully no getting lost!

Here's the thread Marcelo recently posted about routes to Big Marsh. Good luck at the race!

I rode that exact suggestion from Google, except I went a bit further south on the LFT before jumping west on to Jeffrey. Jeffrey is definitely nice and friendly. 103 is an absolute mess, I had to use the sidewalk on the bridge.
