"Hi Alan I hope you are  healing well. I think Chalupa gave good advice, ask your doctor. If you are at great risk  from a fall you may want  to look into a trike. However, they can  tip over as well. I had  bypass surgery…"

"Your doctor is the one to ask. But, since you asked, I think most of us riding around on two wheels accept the fact that not often, but not never, we will fall off of our bikes, fall over our handlebars, or fall into something. If that could end…"

Your opinion is important to me.

I had a heart attack, three months ago. I ride about two thousand miles a year and I am currently riding an E-bike. My chest is held together with 6 screws. Should I look into a three wheeler? or should I keep riding my e-bike (2 inch tires). In the last year, I have fallen twice. the first, I was attacked by a dog and the second time I rodee into a rut. I am on blood thinners and falling would create a whole lot of problems.See More

A dog ran into me.

I was riding thru Elgin, along Bluff City Rd.. an unleashed dog ran from his owner and knocked me off my bike. Off duty cop was there in a minute, Ambulance ride and a CAT scan later, no broken bones and I still have all my teeth. My helmet cracked, my glasses were destroyed and Im banged up.  Anyhow, what's next. can i get my glasses replaced? Anything that I should take care of. I'm picking up the police report tomorrow. BTW the dog was okay.See More

Thanx and I will pay it forward

I was riding along the I&M trail about 3 weeks ago. I have 2 inch tires and didnt think my tires would puncture. Well, my rear tire went flat, I had tools and a pump but no spare, I was about 3 miles from Lemont. A guy named Mark stopped to help me. He had a patch kit, we didnt even have to take the tire off, he patched it, the patch held and I was able to make it back to my car (10 miles away). It was hot and took almost 40 minutes to fix. Just wanted to say thanx and I will definitely pay…See More

"I like your post. I haven't tried an e-bike yet but a "new" left knee and the recovery process sure are helping me see the wisdom in it. Enjoy yourself, I hope to be out there very very soon myself. Stay safe!"

and loving it.

I'm bored and have nothing to do. There is no where to go and nothing is open. The only thing I'm interested in is RIDING. and loving it.For the first week of distancing, I rode an E-Bike, because one of those days had a 25 mph wind in my face. I rode about 100 miles on the E-Bike. I'm almost 65 years old and it was great being able to go up hills ( Valley View, St. Charles), and not worry about the headwinds. It reminds me of when I was 12 years old riding my stingray (with banana seat and…See More
