Evanston Streets Alive! at Main Street between Crown Park and Hinman Ave

September 7, 2014 from 1pm to 6pm
Streets Alive! is an open street initiative that temporarily transforms traffic-choked streets into urban oases. The 2014 event will close down a mile of street to cars and open it to the poeple for exercise, recreation and community. There will be food trucks, many activities, and a focus on promoting bicycling. See More

Shared Streets Evanston at Chicago and Dempster

September 1, 2013 from 12pm to 5pm
Come enjoy an open (car-free) street in the heart of Evanston! This event is a celebration of healthy, sustainable transportation, and streets as places for people. There will be bike safety demonstrations, a bike drive, dooring education, walking and biking tours; as well as music, art, and dance; hula hooping, Tae Chi and Zumba; edgy tactical urbanism, and plenty of community outreach and inspiration.See More
