"Something that I like about the beer cups on the road idea is that it's guerrilla direct action.  Like the "trashy bike lane" that folks created in Toronto which kept cars and trucks off the lane, right at the spot…"

"Sweet. I like this.    Many highways have little reflective thingies that they implant directly into the tarmac.  I wonder if something like that would help in a similar way that the beer cups do, but still allow snowplows to easily…"

"An interesting story in today's Atlantic suggests that adding some sort of physical barrier to the painted stripe of a bike lane greatly alters the way motorists behave around it.  As an experiment, a Brooklyn bike blogger duct taped…"

About me:
Creator of iblockthebikelane.com, a campaign to raise motorists’ awareness of safety issues and laws related to bicycle lanes. Core to the initiative’s efforts are Bike Lane Sticker Teams, groups of bicyclists who place iblockthebikelane.com easy-peel stickers on vehicles illegally standing or parking in clearly marked bicycle lanes.

The stickers are friendly invitations to visit the website, where I post current bicycle-related news and information and encourage constructive dialogue between motorists and bicyclists.
