My usual NBT ride has me coming Logan to California to Elston. The only problem has been the car washes on the southbound side of Elston who use the bike lane for queueing for the car wash.
I guess to answer the question . . . I ask for Coke (meaning Coca-Cola) (preferred over Pepsi). I ask for Ginger Ale (when in Jamaica, with my rum). I ask for Root-Beer. I ask for Seltzer (with my bourbon). I never ask for Soda.
As a native Chicagoan, I've always called it pop; my aunts and uncles called it soda-pop. Any brown, soft-drink that bubbled.
There is actually a beverage called Soda, or Soda Water (clear, carbonated water, containing sodium) not to be confused wit…
From North to Diversy, Stockton is a pretty good route. It has a few stop signs and lights, but not too much traffic. From Diversy to Belmont, Inner Lake Shore Drive isn't terrible.

Why are cyclists expected to (and most do): not wear headphones/earplugs, ride single file, yield to everyone (they're mostly all slower) and obliged to notify when we're passing?
I just returned from a short/slowish ride, with my wife, along the la…
Well then I gota ask, are you in euroupe? In this country most of us drive, and ride to the right.
Another reason for calling out "on your left" is so ONCOMMING riders no there is a chance someone might run into their lane....
I guess if your on a l…
