About me:
I bicycle mostly because it reminds me of when I was young and when biking felt as if I was flying through the streets. I love mountain biking for the adventure, cruising on lake shore drive for relaxation, and getting around cities for its unique mobility.

I am an urban planner and have found a new respect and cause for biking and see it as a prime mode of transportation. Ever go to danmark or amsterdam? You'll know what I mean.

I am creating a plan to restructure the roadways on the major arterials in East Lakeview which includes an extensive bicycle plan for the neighborhood. A real bicycle framework. Why East Lakeview rather than other parts of the city?

Read my plan and find out.

Latest Bicycle Excursion 1/6/09

My latest bicycle trip was biking through the everglades on a 10 foot wide bike path. Swamp land was on both sides and alligators, crocodiles, blue herons, and other wildlife were abundant and everywhere. The Gators were among the travelers on the bike path. Often, we had to ride around them. It was exhilarating and incredible and kinda scary. I felt as if I had entered Jurassic Park.

Not to miss!!!

Kinzie @ Franklin Accident AM WB 7/5/11

Saw a bicycle crushed beneath a truck on Kinzie @ Franklin heading WB this morning around 9am. Ambulance present. Looked like the cyclist was heading through the stop sign as the truck turned right. Only saw aftermath.

Any word on the person's condition?

Anything would be great, thanks!

"In May 1971, Daley unveiled a 34-mile bicycle route, and, in August 1972, he inaugurated rush-hour bicycle lanes on Clark and Dearborn Streets. During the 1970s, soaring gas prices and heightened concern about energy and air pollution bolstered public support for Daley's bicycling programs. " -…
