"I've taken my Dahon Speed (20" wheels) on the South Shore a few times without incident.  It's been bagged, and I put it on the seat next to me.  I had it ready to go before the train arrived, and the conductor did not give…"

David commented on Emily Robison's event 'QUEERLY MASS'D'
"I'm in!  A thought and request.  If there's a small turnout, what about organizing (v. riding)?  I'm a chicken when it comes to small masses (fyi---it's about traffic, not the closet. LOL).  I'd hope this…"

"I've been looking for something like this for awhile.  However, I'd prefer to have a presence at the regular monthly mass downtown and/or have our own mass at a time that doesn't compete with the downtown mass.  Others'…"

QUEERLY MASS'D at Humboldt Park

September 23, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm
This is a space for queers and allies to meet and find a cycling community. We love a spectrum of genders, ages, identities, and bikes and welcome you to ride! Wear your glitter, cycling drag, or whatever makes you feel fabulous and fierce.Pace will be leisurely, and the ride will be 5-10 miles. We aren't setting a route ahead of time, but won't venture too far North or South. Let's help build a bike scene we want to see in Chicago! Suggestions? Concerns? Want to help? We'd love to hear from…See More

12th Annual Chicago River Flatwater Classic Paddle & Pedal at North Branch Bicycle Trail

September 18, 2011 from 10am to 4pm
Appreciate the beauty of the scenic North Branch by boat or bike and help support Friends of the Chicago River! The Flatwater Classic began in 2000 as a fun, yet strategic, policy initiative to create visibility around water quality standards in the Chicago River. We accomplished our mission in 2010 when the Illinois Pollution Control Board agreed to strengthen water quality standards. We’ve moved the Flatwater to the North Branch to promote the modification or removal of some of the river’s…See More

Folding on the South Shore RR

I'm considering a folder specifically to take on the South Shore Railroad.  I know this line has a history of being hostile to bikers.  Anyone have stories to share?  Their official policies allow bikes that fit on the luggage racks.  I've taken measurement of the racks (not spacious, but, I think, do-able).  Thoughts?

Liar's Tour at TBD

April 1, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm
I try to make my tours fun and entertaining, but also informative and factual.  They are fashioned as a social event, but they are also like a rolling history lesson.  Once a year, I need a break from all of the facts and I will just lie my……head off.  This is that day.  Anything…potentially everything I say may be…See More

November 9, 2010 from 7pm to 8pm
Our first class was such a success! This will be a weekly class offered to all chainlinkers (and friends). Every Tuesday evening from 7-8pm we will be practicing Vinyasa. A skilled leader will show us how to improve our core and overall strength as cyclists. Feedback and suggested donation for our teacher are welcome. Please rsvp in some form due to space limitations.
