"lol- I did that, and couldn't find a bike that looks like the one I have  (I thought the nature of my question would indicate that I'm more of a novice and not well learned in the ways of the bicycle). but thanks! "

"$100 new would be a dream IMHO. Put $30 in a planet bike fender set, a plastic chain guard on, and a used 3-speed hub on it and for well under $50 more you've got a pretty nice. That rear wheel looks like 2 cross pattern and I bet if you…"

"Isn't getting doored pretty much like getting rear ended?? If you were in a bike lane, minding your own business and someone in front of you negligently opened their door into traffic, how could that be your fault??? And therefore, didn't…"

"Yes, basically in the end always press charges. You can always drop them later if the person wants to settle with your insurance company. Don't rely on police for ANYTHING, this even goes for violent crime victims. It doesn't matter if you…"

"Steel is real.  Plastic and aluminum are for beverage containers.  What are 5-6lbs in the scheme of things?  Not even a gallon of milk."

"I have one that I love. I'd say keep it for riding around town. It's got a steel frame, so a bit heavy, but rides luxuriously. OTR has it for $270 (that's where I got mine from), you can get one online for $199."

The kind of riding I do:
Recreational, Around Town
About me:
I like bike riding. To and fro, but I wouldn't say I'm proficient. I can't do handsfree, or a coasting dismount. But my grandma can, and I think that should count for something.
I moved to Chicago over a year ago, and I gotta say, I really like the place. It's a great town. Hopefully this year, I'll get some kite-flying in!
