Look Chicago Safety Blitz #2 at TBD Based on Recent Doorings

April 6, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm
Hey all,Dooring is something that can be prevented and we are hoping to make that happen.  Simple steps can make the recent dooring crash stories avoidable and ones we never have to relive.  We plan to be out for two hours as we distribute flyers down Lincoln avenue to Montrose and end with an informal meeting at possibly Heuttenbar. We 'LOOK' forward to seeing ya'll there.@lookchicagoSee More

February 23, 2013 from 10am to 5pm
Tiny Fix Bike Gang & friends are holding a bake sale at The Bike Lane (2130 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago) to benefit Dustin Valenta, a messenger for Cut Cats Courier who was doored and run over by a truck in Wicker Park, resulting a broken pelvis, every one of his ribs being broken, and the bottom of his skull being shattered. We'll be there all day, with vegan goodies for the ethics-minded, non-vegan goods for the butter eaters, and a gluten-free option. We'll have stacks and stacks of…See More

What it takes to get a stolen bike back in Seattle

This is a spellbinding story by my Seattle bike friend Tom."When I glanced the flat-head screwdriver in his hand, time stopped. The shouting stopped. The shellack-coated handlebars gripped in my fingers stopped shaking and pulling away from me. For just one second, I focused so hard on that screwdriver that time froze. And for that second, only one thought was on my mind: I…See More

"I wear longhandles when it gets cooler than 50. Today I wore two pair—cotton and wool! Yep, I have little to no circulation. But I felt good this morning; even my hands were OK. The sun might have made a difference."
