To the bicyclist that almost ended up as a hood ornament on my van, my apologies. I do accept some of the blame, as I failed to see you until you swerved in front of my van. But to those who ride the…Continue

Dangerous bus driver on Milwaukee Avenue

New one for me tonight. I was making a left on Desplaines onto Milwaukee. I took the center of the lane because a car was parked in the bike lane ahead...by the bars just around the bend. When the…Continue

I haven't heard much talk...maybe I missed it...of the new two-way lanes going in on the east side of Clinton, south of Randolph...From Randolph, looks like is stretches at least a few blocks. The…Continue

""Don't Engage" is best when possible,  but don't apologise if you're not in the wrong. Apologising may only further justify aggression to the attacker's mind. Dismount if you can't escape, and be ready to…"

Disturbing Incident Report on Facebook/UK Village

Read this on the Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Watch Facebook page. A man in pickup truck was headed west on Grand. He suddenly pulled over & got out of the truck & walked into the street. There was a cyclist trying to get around him but the truck driver pushed the cyclist into oncoming east bound traffic. The cyclist hit an east bound car & fell to the ground. I'm not sure if the biker's helmet was pinned under the rear tire of the car. Bystanders were trying to cut the chin strap…See More

"What does the lack of a helmet have to do with anything? Well, it's my humble opinion that if you're going to indulge in risky behavior, like biking the wrong way down a one-way street, it might be prudent to wear one. While I fully…"

"What does the lack of a helmet have to do with anything? I keep reading stories from drivers who almost hit a bicyclist who seem to think that not wearing a helmet means the bicyclist deserves what he/she gets. If the guy was riding naked you still…"

"It sounds to me like you were already being careful.  I have no sympathy for cyclists like this.  The one time in my life I was well and truly pulverized while riding, it was by a wrong-way cyclist.  How ironic!"

To the bicyclist that almost ended up as a hood ornament on my van, my apologies. I do accept some of the blame, as I failed to see you until you swerved in front of my van. But to those who ride the wrong way down one-way streets, without a helmet, and cut in front of rather large vans...please be careful. I'm a cyclist (and occasional driver) and would hate to be partially responsible for someone getting injured, or worse. And flipping us off and staring us down doesn't help, when all we…See More
