My wife recently got a new gig and will have to head out to Lake Forest via Metra once a week. She needs a beater-ish bike that she won't sweat leaving locked up at a Metra station on those days…Continue

Anne Alt said… Feel free to join us at tonight's CCC meeting at Quenchers - presentation by Ben Helphand on the Bloomingdale Trail.
Anne Alt said… If you look for our group along the east side of Longwood near 105th Pl, I know we'll have at least one person who's going back to Logan Square after the race.
Anne Alt said… Bike racing, Rainbow Cone and good beer (Sierra Nevada and Argus) - a fine combination!
Anne Alt said… Not a problem. If you want a Top Notch stop, one option is to go up the hill on 91st, hang a left on Winchester, a right on 92nd St and left on Hamilton to 95th, then Top Notch is on your left. Of course, a little detour to Rainbow Cone is easy from there, too - 92nd Pl west from Leavitt to Western.
Anne Alt said… Logan Sq to Beverly? - something like this: California to Chicago to Sacramento to Warren to California to 47th to Damen to 87th. Cross 87th and follow Major Taylor Trail to 91st. Choose your route from there (91st St. Metra station) depending on your destination in Beverly.
Pavement conditions on most of the route should be decent. It's rideable in daytime, but sections of it are VERY dicey at night.
