"Well, the only real "WTF?" for me above is the bit about calling the police and making up a description of a gun that wasn't there.  I am reading that correctly, right?"

This book came up recently in another discussion.  Howard thought it might make a subject for some good discourse, so I thought I'd elaborate a bit on some of what I said there.I think the design approach/format utilized by this book as well as its inclusion of some topics that often go unmentioned or are given short shrift in other similarly-themed books is…See More

If you look for our group along the east side of Longwood near 105th Pl, I know we'll have at least one person who's going back to Logan Square after the race.

Bike racing, Rainbow Cone and good beer (Sierra Nevada and Argus) - a fine combination!

Not a problem.  If you want a Top Notch stop, one option is to go up the hill on 91st, hang a left on Winchester, a right on 92nd St and left on Hamilton to 95th, then Top Notch is on your left.  Of course, a little detour to Rainbow Cone is easy from there, too - 92nd Pl west from Leavitt to Western.

Logan Sq to Beverly? - something like this: California to Chicago to Sacramento to Warren to California to 47th to Damen to 87th.  Cross 87th and follow Major Taylor Trail to 91st.  Choose your route from there (91st St. Metra station) depending on your destination in Beverly.

Pavement conditions on most of the route should be decent.  It's rideable in daytime, but sections of it are VERY dicey at night.
