I have a wool sweater with a moth hole and would like to patch the hole. I tried patching it by simply felting the edges of the hole together but it just didn't work.

I came across this video by WoolFiller (www.woolfiller.com).  Just what I'm looking for but it seems a bit pricey.  I have various sizes of felting needles, I just need to find patch material.

So my questions are: what type of patch wool material is she using in the video? Is that wool roving? Wool batting?  What form(s) of wool material can I use?

The wool material looks like roving. Seems that she's needle felting the stuff in place. Probably most any non-superwash wool would work (I'm guessing, just from the video). Some wools are going to be softer than others, so if it's going to be on bare skin, look for a merino or merino blend. Again, 100% vs. something like wool/nylon or other fiber.

Depending on the sweater/holes, I've also seen people pick up stitches and "knit" a hole closed.
