Left 3 Floyd's this afternoon and got dumped within 10 minutes. But it felt so good compared to riding in the humidity!

Ended up riding from Hyde Park to Andersonville in the middle of the storm, the rain stopped when I got to the loop and it was a pretty pleasant ride on a mostly deserted LFP the rest of the way.  Couldn't ride into work this morning since all my gear was still pretty wet.

Last Sunday, I had to break camp in the rain at Ottawa Lake Recreational Area at Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern Unit.  i had to haul a bunch of wet, grubby gear back to Milwaukee.  On top of that , my front tire flatted in Wales.  Fortunately, I found out about it at the rest stop on the Glacial Drumlin Trail.  Since I always carry a spare tube, I was able to get it promptly repaired and get back onto the trail.

I had a great time pushing through the water last night. I'll never back down from a storm. BRING IT!

Watching the radar, timing my departure from the west loop into downtown. Managed to find a break in the storm to crawl home in the heavy drizzle. Upon arrival into the loop is when the storm hit again. Hugging the walls of the buildings trying to stay fairly dry as I made it to the condo entrance with just my shoulders wet.

I got to mostly watch the storm from the comfort of my living room window. and this morning I missed the worst of it, only getting drizzled on in the suburbs. how did others fare last night and this morning? shit got cray there for a while

Yeah. My buddy and I were approaching the crotch (Milwaukee & Damen) when the shit blew in. He asked me, how do you want to handle this. I was contemplating saying, "let's just ride through it" when a crazy gust and wave of rain hit us. The door to the Bank on our right blew open so I turned and said, "Let's go in there!" and we hopped off the street and went straight into the ATM room and hung out with a homeless guy till the front passed. It was amazing!

I was riding home from work when i saw it out of the corner of my eye to the west.  Rode another couple miles before realizing I was gonna get hit hard, and since I'm still breaking in a new Brooks saddle (stolen :( last week) that I did NOT want to get soaked, I bailed at the Trader Joes on Lincoln Ave and locked bike underneath their overhang for about 15 minutes until the heavy rain and winds calmed down... saw some pretty cool lightning after that though!
