Hello all! I am sad sad sad to say that I can no longer ride RAGBRAI. I will be changing jobs on July 18th and I can't take the time off.

Does anyone know someone who needs a wristband? Alll week.

I hope I see Lance out there....  And I hope that he notices that I am riding a LeMond!!!!  (And hopefully I will have either a La Vie Claire or "Z" jersey by then, and be wearing it when I see him!!!!)  Perhaps I might even yell "DOPER!!!!" as I ride by!!!!

I really agree with Craig S. about Lance but I wasn't sure others felt this way.  I think he diverted attention from all the things that make RAGBRAI what it is - the wonderful Iowans and the participating teams.  I think yellow is boring in contrast to RAGBRAI's multicolored personality.   I was hoping he'd go back to Le Tour and leave us to enjoy Ragbrai without him.

Wish That Guy would find somewhere else to ride. The last two times he graced Iowa with his presence, he created a damn circus out of the chaos. I can only hopenhe has a couple camera cars following his every move again.

Lance Armstrong will be joining us this year.

I got a lot of pictures of people walking up that hill, and they didn't even have the excuse of carrying a cute little dog on the back of their bike.  Yes, I admit, I walked.

btw I have heard from the Chambers of Commerce in Coralville and Carroll with assignment of hosts.  Has anybody else who is staying indoors heard from the other overnight towns?

I would say 60% of people that went up Potter hill walked it last year. I was definetly in my granny gear, thank goodness for triple cogs!

We planned a ride for tomorrow for any RAGBRAIers. Its midday though so some can't attend. If you are FREE then see the calendar for details. We are going to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. 1pm @ Julie's depart. Return late afternoon.
