I have my dining room table fully extended and loaded with everything. It looks like a vendor's table at a bike expo.

Getting very excited as Friday comes closer. We're driving to Galena, sleeping, then getting up early to load a charter bus to Sioux City.

Who has all their gear packed already? I have some of it thrown in my living room but nothing organized or packed.

4 days, as Ragbrai really starts on Saturday.

For those of you traveling I-80 east on Saturday, Marne (marn-ie) Iowa is always a pit stop. There's one bar in town and you'll find a dozen buses and a bunch of cars parked for some libations, conversation, grub and volleyball. Always a good time if you need a leg stretcher.

4 days!

"A Million Spokes"

This is just released, the premier of a feature length documentary Saturday in Sioux City. If you're a vet, you can relate to every situation depicted, if you're a virgin, you're about to have the time of your life next week. Not completely office safe due to some mild swearing.

Any ZYM users going to Ragbrai interested in helping us pass out samples at the expo and/or during the ride? If so, respond to this or give me a shout at 312 474 0744. Thanks, Piper

Awesome! Thanks guys!

I didn't know Amtrak let bikes on that route. I'll definitely look in to this.

Ryan,
I'm taking Amtrak to Omaha, and greyhound up to Sioux City, leaving friday afternoon and arriving around noon the next day. Amtrak only charges $5 for a bike and $15 for a bike box if you don't have one. hope this helps you. now all i need to do is find a place in downtown Omaha to stay overnight...

What you really need Ryan is a lift to Dubuque. Then you sign on to one of the charter services listed in the booklet you got with your registration material. Perhaps there is a Greyhound bus that would take you and your bike. Since you haven't got a dog with you, it should be easier for you. And I recommend Out-of-Staters to get you to the other side of the state. If they have room.

Yeah, it's late, but I don't suppose anyone has got extra room for one dude + bike for the trek from Chicago to Sioux City? Still trying to figure out how to make it out there...

Jeremy,

Yes. There will even be people arriving mid to later next week. You'll need a vehicle pass to get into the Ragbrai Campgrounds. http://siouxcityragbrai2010.com/campgrounds/
