wanna call it for the first weekend of May? do an easy one like Illinois beach state park?

is it too soon, or should we call it the "too soon to be camping camping ride"?

Indiana Dunes-About 70 miles from Chicago...
isn't that Southshore line and do they not allow bikes on that?
Also last year the Southshore had limited service during the week ends due to maintenance...

Paul and I want to hit up the Dunes and Starved Rock this summer for sure.

no changing of the name, pls.

Camping in Zion was nice back in October, but I'd be up for anything. Also, Amanda wanted to put on RDDR:DANCE CAMP back when we were first planning RDDR:INAUGURAL. Best of so many worlds!

I think that the later half of April might be do-able, particularly if we were to hit up one of the campgrounds that are along/close to Metra stations for an easy escape route. Perhaps Illinois Beach State Park?

For quick camping trips, later in the summer we could always combine Metra and biking:

Rock Cut State Park (about 25 miles from the Harvard, IL Metra)
Starved Rock (Rideable from the city, but apparently very easy from the Joliet Metra)
Indiana Dunes-About 70 miles from Chicago
Bong Recreation Area-- In Wisconsin, about 70 miles from Chicago, pretty close to the Kenosha Metra.

I'm definitely getting excited for the spring to be here!!

Heather and I go to Indiana Beach every year... Granted it isn't a bike to destination, But I have an awesome 50 mile bike loop that follows the Erie Canal that starts at the campground...
