I've gone to Illinois Beach SP, I used to live in Beach Park as a kid. Last year, I tried Richard I. Bong State Recreatinal Area near Brighton, WI and this Year, I tried Kettle Moraine SF- Southern Unit, Ottawa Lake Recreational Area, just south of Dousman, WI.

I understand, I've hiked n camped. I've motorcycle & auto camped. Never bicycled n camped.

Something, I would like to do. Where does this group like to go?

cyclo'69, we have found that slingshotting outside of the 50 mile radius is the way to go to try to get to more remote, or more aptly, places we havent been a millions times already.

Hey All, I'm new to this group and i was wondering what are the best places to bike/camp within 50miles of the city? I was thinking about going sometime in the late summer/fall. I know there is Blackwell, just of the IPP. I've seen some places on the I&M canal trail.

What else?

I have reservations for August 6th at the Indiana dunes state park. I've bumped up the discussion thread.

Anyone planning another trip? I've never been to the dunes before. I wasn't able to make the last trip. The idea of not going bike camping this year kinda bums me out.

If you want the best water bottle filter out there, there is always http://www.lifesaversystems.com/ :) But that thing is expensive.
