Pitching a tent renaissance style

So I'm thinking of a weekend ride up Illinois Beach State Park and the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Ride up and camp Saturday, pop over the border to the fair on Sunday, and then slingshot home on Metra. Either that or slingshot out and go to the fair on Saturday and ride home Sunday. I'd also consider slingshoting out Friday and camping two nights. Ride would have to be in August because my July is shot. Anyone interested?

Its about 9 miles to either Winthrop and Antioch Metra stations.

Antioch doesn't have weekend trains. And there is a limited number of trains that originate in Kenosha on the weekends. (Most trains originate in Waukegan on weekends.)

There's a 6:57 pm departure from Winthrop Harbor that would work going home on Sunday. Slingshoting out Saturday would involve either a really early train (6:35 from OTC) or getting there midafternoon. So I'm going to propose ride out Saturday, and take the 6:57 home on Sunday.

True. I just wanted people to know about the reduced number of Kenosha<->Chicago trains on weekends so you can plan accordingly.

I'm thinking either Aug 11-12, or 25-26. Does anyone have an opinion on either weekend.
