Permalink Reply by Barry Niel Stuart on February 22, 2012 at 3:56pm Are any new camping trips being planned for 2012 at Illinois Beach, Kettle Moraine South, Chain O' Lakes, or Bong? I'd like to see if Milwaukee and Chicago cyclists can get together in the great outdoors somewhere convenient to both our cities and swap note4sw on what we're doing.
Going to Illinois Beach in late April or early May seems to be a tradition for this group. Although planning doesn't usually start until late March or early April, when the weather starts to be consistently nice and people start thinking about camping.

Permalink Reply by Barry Niel Stuart on February 26, 2012 at 4:12pm As for myself, since I have to come from Milwaukee, I take the Hank Aaron Trail to the New Berlin Trail to the Glacial Drumlin Trail to Hwy. 67. That's the route I took when I went to Kettle Moraine-South last July. I camped near Ottawa Lake in the north end of the forest.
