Yeah attached to a set of Purple Deep-V's. The guy rode them like for a week and decided he didn't like fixed. So he sold the wheelset and the cog for $150+20. Oh Craigslist!

It depends. It's roughly 100 miles, maybe a little less. What you need to be careful of is the wind. When I did the ride it was fine through Illinois, but hit 25mph headwinds around Zion. I was pretty glad I went for pursuit bars instead of risers...

how long does that take? 100 miles?

Take the lake trail to sheridan road. Then take sheridan road out to Highland Park. Around Ft. Sheridan you can pick up another north bound trail that ends around Great Lakes. Around Great lakes you can pick up Sheridan Road again, but it turns into route 137. Across the border route 137 turns into route 32. There are big shoulders and decently marked directions the entire way-- plus some spectacular views of the lake.

what's a suggested route from Chitown?

I just did the ride a few weekends ago. Make sure you bring plenty of extra tubes-- route 137 / 32 gets a little hairy around Great Lakes. And if you end your ride at Cafe Centraal in Bayview they'll treat you to a few free beers if you tell them you rode fixed.

Anyone want to ride to Milwaukee? I was thinking about riding up there one day soon, staying the night going out to a few bars, then staying the night at a cheap hostel, and riding back the next day. anyone interested?
