Ride of Silence - May 15, 2013 - One day. One time. World wide.

Join the annual Ride of Silence, an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

The 2013 Chicago Ride Of Silence will gather at the Eternal Flame in Daley Plaza on Wednesday, May 15, at 6 PM and depart at 6:45 PM.

Our route will pass 6 ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

Chicago Ride of Silence is hosting an event next Thursday, May 9, from 6-9pm at Heritage Bicycles. Spiteful Brewing will be donating their Ghost Bike Pale Ale for the night. We're out to raise awareness about the Ride of Silence and sharing the road -- ROS is Wednesday, May 15 @ 7pm.

(as of yet this event is not listed on the calendar.... but it will be as soon as we figure out what to call it)

This year will mark the 3rd year of the tragic event that took Martha Gonzalez' life on 18th & Halsted. In loving remembrance of the vibrant woman who affected many of us with her beautiful spirit and intense love we will have a get-together of friends and family at Simone's from 5pm - 2am.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

Elizabeth-Sorry. I cannot be there.  I have work commitments. My heart will be with you and the other riders.  I rode by there this morning and was very conscious of the parents dropping kids off at Payton around 730 am.
