Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Are you planning to head for the Matteson Metra?

If we leave off square by 2:54 it's unlikely that I will be in any shape to ride to Hammond, let alone home.
Just sayin....

there's going to be wind?

Comment by bobweiser on July 7, 2017 at 10:43am

let's see, leave off square by 2:54 to get to hammond by 4:40 to get downtown at 5:23, plenty of time to get to dinner by 6:30.

or, 43.2 mi from off square to dinner = 3.6 hrs @ 12 mph, reservation @ 6:30 means leaving by 2:54.

really, the exact same time??

Michael,

Hope you can join us tomorrow. Keep in mind that the minimum riding distance is about 62 miles ( back to Hammond, IN train station. Take train to downtown) or 82 miles back to downtown.

Responsible?  Etc I can see, but responsible?

Hi all. I've never been part of a biking group so I'm a bit uncertain how it'd work out to ride with others. What kind of pace do you typically keep?
