Hi! I'm looking for either a 1-bedroom apartment or a friendly roommate to search for a place together by July 1. My budget is at most $700 a month for my share (before utilities), and I'd like to be somewhere on or near the blue line.

If you have any leads, please let me know! Thanks!

We have a couple possibilities down at the Hub! We have one 1 bedroom opening at the end of June, and a studio opening too. The studio folks are open to moving to the 1 bedroom if you want their space. Dishwasher, new furnaces, plumbing, hardwood floors, lots of basement storage, lots of bike tools available, welding equipment, frequent barbecues and social events, rent-to-buy options... contact me for more details.

H3N3 thanks for the suggestion.  I've never heard of that company. I don't have the skill set to build it myself but I think that's a great idea.

Sophs, I'm interested in the rack that you have. Please send me a pic at tonyalj@gmail.com.  Thanks for responding.

We have one that we would like to donate although I'm not sure it's exactly what you want. Perhaps you could be creative about it.  if you are interested could send you a pick.

That's really cool that you want to do this.

Affordable is a tough one-- a subjective term, so maybe this works for you.  There are a number of options for sale by Barco:

http://www.barcoproducts.com/store/index2.asp?DEPARTMENT_ID=156

You'll want to secure them really well, such that you would have to make a hell of a lot of noise to rip them out.  Be aware that most thieves carry cable cutters so you'll still want the bikes locked with U-locks even inside your "safe" space.

If it were me I'd consider making something myself with at least 1" galvanized steel, and flanges/fittings (and a little quick spot-welding here and there.)

Also consider UV metal arts-- Uvie might me willing to whip you up something cheaper than Barco. His workspace is at 37th/Morgan.
