WTB: quill stem
Does anyone have a quill stem that they are looking to get rid of? I'm looking for something like an 80mm Technomic Deluxe with a 26.0mm clamp. Doesn't have to be a Tech Dlx, but about the same height would be good., and it must be 26.0. The existing stem on the bike has the right extension but is a 25.4 clamp; I have a Tech Dlx that is taller, but at 110mm it's too long for the rider.

Did you try installing the 26.0 bar in the 25.4 clamp? I've done that a number of times and never had any problems. Just be careful during installation not to scratch the bars.

Yes, and it just wouldn't go. Even when I pried the clamp apart, it wouldn't fit, and was starting to scratch the sleeve pretty badly.
