Marketing isn't really one of my strengths, but I think the name needs work. Why don't you organize a ride and see what happens? Are you aware of the Slow Bicycle Society?

CCC also has the senior rides.

This is the standing weekly ride of the Senior cycling and Gourmet Club along the lake front.. Why ride alone? Come make some new friends. Ride with us! We will start on Thursday May 10th and continue every Thursday to the end of September. We meet at 10:30 A.M at the North Avenue Beach house. We will stop for a gourmet lunch along the way. This ride affords an opportunity for active ladies and gentlemen, 55 years and older to ride together. ALL RIDERS ARE WELCOME. Mitch Gold, Ride leader

Most of those cycling groups stay up north. Not too much on the southwest sides.
We are trying to get some interest over in the McKinley Park (Archer & Western) and Brighton Park and Bridgeport area.
We are open to suggestions.
We will be trying to get some support from the bike shops in those areas (we are scouting for them) to get a Southwest Side Bike Shop Ride. This way, cyclists can get to know the LBSs and maybe get some more interest for cycling in the area.
We don't have any bike lanes west of Loomis on Archer, so people end up not going this way very much.
Anyway, you guys get the picture. Maybe even Active Transportation could have a registration at the end (or start) and a small banner. Who knows. Just spitballin'.
