Winter helmet recommendations

I'm looking for a new helmet for this winter. Something similar to a Nutcase type of helmet. Or a helmet that is fully enclosed. Any recommendations or suggestions?

You might be able to use your current helmet with a cover. Alternatively, I've had good success with wearing a balaclava underneath my helmet even when it's fairly cold out. As an added bonus, balaclava provides protection for your face.

+1 on the Bern. I use the Bern Watts for winter cycling and snowboarding. One of the nicest features is that a removable winter liner is built into the helmet design. I know Coppenhagan Cyclery on Milwaukee in Wicker Park carries them if you want to check them out and buy local. Otherwise, REI has mens and womens bern helmets on sale in their online outlet store right now (I just picked one up for my wife): http://www.rei.com/outlet/search?vcat=OUTLET_SEARCH&query=bern+

Thanks for the tip on the helmet cover. I do use a balaclava (thank you Bike Winter!). But I want to get a helmet that has a more solid body.

i've since retired it, but i really enjoyed a Pryme Vario snowboarding helmet that i got from Uptown Bikes. it has a goggle retention strap in back (also handy for holding a light) and a removable liner that blocks wind from your ears.

Another method used is putting clear tape over the vents on a regular helmet. This blocks the wind and still lets you head vent. Usually I just use ear warmers down to 20 deg., and light hat down to 0 deg. but I have a lot of hair.
