The Chainlink

It seems like someone is always starts this conversation with me. I always say that driving is more dangerous. I hate driving. There are a lot of reckless drivers out there and most of the time cyclists get hurt because of reckless drivers. Drunk driving, and all that as well. I don't know that's just my opinion but someone always tries to tell me that cycling is more dangerous. I guess it can go both ways though.

Sections of that tunnel are prone to icing over. I would imagine that the tunnel's lighting makes ice hard to spot.

Are people just more inclined to drive like assholes in that tunnel?

And yes, that Maaaaaaaxium drrrrrrrifting bus was awesome.

Haha That makes perfect sense.

High rates of speed fueled by excessive consumption of vodka would be my guess.

that tunnel is crazy. What about it makes people crash?

according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lefortovo_Tunnel

most of the crashed occur in the winter when the roads are totally frozen.

Still, if its cold and icy, I would not be inclined to speed in that tunnel at all.

The craziest one was when the truck came crashing through the wall, and hit another truck around minute 1:00.

You also wouldn't be inclined to use an exit ramp to get on the highway because the entrance ramp was backed up, argue with a meter maid carrying an assault rifle, or all sorts of other things that a Moscow driver wouldn't think twice about.
