Walgreens now “welcomes” people on bikes at outdoor service windows (in Portland)

Is this just a Portland thing, or do you think we will be able to also have this "privilege" in Walgreen's home state too?  Who's up for contacting James Graham?

Walgreens now “welcomes” people on bikes at outdoor service windows

“We welcome bicyclists at our drive-through lanes… riding a bike is just the kind of healthy, environmentally-friendly activity we welcome at our stores.”
— James Graham, Walgreens corporate media relations

Walgreens, America’s largest drug store chain, has responded to concerns that one of their policies unfairly excluded customers who ride bicycles.  Full Bike Portland article here.

Part of me wonders if drive-thru's at fast food joints would follow suit.

But then again a bike only lane at a Starbucks or some other coffee house might garner a lot of business for someone.

I think something got jumbled or missed with the dates here-- this is from spring 2013.

I've picked up prescriptions at one suburban Walgreens a couple of times. There was no indication from the pharmacy assistant that there was anything wrong or unusual about a bike in the drive-through lane.

The manager of the local Starbucks in my small south suburb forbade me from riding my bike through the  drive through lane citing safety concerns.  I had been going through the drive through 2 or 3 times a week for maybe 6 weeks before they told me to stop.  Oddly enough, the driver in front of me that day paid for my coffee.  Yay Walgreens!  Boo Starbucks!

You are totally right!
