Volunteer mechanics needed to support Dulcimer Festival bike ride!

A friend of mine, Colin Tysoe, runs the local Sierra Club Inner City Outings (ICO) program, a Sierra Club initiative that gets inner-city kids out in the wilderness to hike, camp, fish, canoe and bike. Every year, ICO has a fundraiser, the Dulcimer Bike Ride, where folks pay $22 to ride their bikes on the I&M Bike Trail from Channahon to Morris, where they have a picnic and enjoy the Dulcimer and Traditional Music Festival at Gebhard Woods State Park. The ride starts at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 11, and ends mid-afternoon.

Colin is looking for couple of volunteers to give free bike checks before the ride and tackle flats or problems along the way. Of course, the registration fee would be waived for volunteers. Colin is also lining up rides for people, so we should be able to line up a ride for any bike support volunteers.

If anyone is interested in working this ride as a volunteer, please let me know. THANKS!

That's fantastic, Richard; thanks! Let me know if you need anything.
