There is nobody in bicycle advocacy that doesn't understand that bike lanes are an advocacy tool that primarily serve to get more people on bikes. I don't think the revelation that a crash in a bike lane at 30 mph is worse than a crash outside a bike lane at 10 mph is going to result in any policy shifts.
