Stored my Schwalbe Winter Studded Road Tire 700c x 35mm standing up leaning against a wall for 7 months.  Installed today.  Bulge at valve.  Deflated and reinflated.  Bulge again.  Thoughts? THANKS!!!!

Broken cord in the tire?

Is the bulge at the bead or in the casing? I suspect you just don't have the bead seated at the valve.

Hard to say without a photo. It would be certainly worth removing tire and tube and starting the process over. Mark the area of the bulge, place the tire on in a different position (rotate it relative to the valve location on the rim). If the bulge is in the same point on the tire I would say the tire is bad.

Thanks to everyone's input.  I am relieved to report that the tire is not bad and that the problem was a defective tube.  Ready for winter riding!

Great news. Those Marathons are expensive, but definitely worth the money.

They were the bomb last year.  It was like a Bing Crosby movie gliding silently down the icy Prairie Path with snow falling and the Luxos B cutting a beam through the blanket of darkness.

A bad tube cannot cause the tire to bulge, you did not have the bead seated.
