The bike lanes getting more crowded in 2013 and beyond?
How many "new" people will begin biking in 2013?
Parking in the loop and other 'hoods went up, CTA is going up and I heard on the tv news that Rollerblades are allowed in the streets as traffic just like bikes?

You'd be crazy to skate in town. I commuted for two summers on skates along the lake before a crash (over a damn bottlecap) convinced me to get a bike.

With the typical pavement conditions seen on Chicago streets, I can't imagine rollerblading in most streets. My knees hurt just thinking about all the cracks.

I see a fair number of people on longboards in the bike lanes. They scare me a bit - if they have to ditch the board, I may not be able to dodge it.

i'm surprised the law was about roller bladers and not skateboarders! i'm not sure how viable roller blading is, because they need a wider berth than most bike lanes.
