The Chainlink

Just rode downtown this morning...even though we only got a little bit of snow on Saturday morning, it seemed to me like the Milwaukee, Kinzie, and Dearborn bike lanes had been thoroughly salted. I'll take that as a good sign!

How's the weather in Chicago?

I was having a good chuckle because we got a little bit of snow (it melted by the next morning) in D.C. and they salted everything like crazy before it snowed. I keep hearing how D.C. turns chaotic if it snows more than a few inches. I think this was probably a sign.

I have heard that that is true about DC. Maybe you'll get a "Snowpocalypse" like they had in 2009/10 (they may also have had another more recently).

Cold here this morning! 18 degrees. Light snow again last night. Bike lanes were clear. Only got nervous on the Kinzie bridge--looked a little slick.

I was in DC in March 2014 when they got a Snowpocalypse - over 1 foot of snow, then the temps dived into the teens and stayed below freezing for most of a week. Schools, government offices and most local transit were shut down for at least 2 days. It was TONS of fun getting around when there was so much snow and ice left in place.
