The Chainlink

Yesterday my very special cargo bike was stolen. I have placed  info as far and wide as I can in the hope of recovering it, including the stolen registry, craigslist, my facebook, neighborhood association etc. It is irreplaceable and of great value to my family and I. If you should see a bright purple DeFietsfabriek bucket cargo bike please call the cops. It's the only one of that color, and one of only maybe 4 similar styles in the city.

Thanks and much love-

great to be here on chainlink.

Tragic. My thought was always that I had less to worry about with a hot pink box bike. I'll be hugging my steed closely tonight.

What neighborhood was it stolen in?

Stolen from Independence Park neighborhood near Elston and Irving Park intersection. Thanks everyone!

Sorry about the theft Paul-- I don't see how this could not turn up.

I was picturing something else when I saw the 4-seat description. Is that accurate?

That's terrible and we feel your loss! My partner Tiffany rides a pink De Fietsfabriek OMA that she cherishes (and most likely the only one in the country in that color), and I ride a Batavus Fryslan. We always notice Dutch bikes wherever we go - and we'll absolutely keep an eye out for your precious cargo bike!

I live in this area...and will keep an eye out for it.

Stupidest thief ever.

If he (or she) even takes it outside it is going to be spotted.  If any bike has a chance of being spotted and recovered it is this one.

I also live in the neighborhood, a few blocks from there, and ride every day. I will definitely keep my eyes peeled and get ready to report it. That would be a 9-1-1 call or a 3-1-1?
