The Chainlink

Hey all - what do you think of the current Iphone mobile app?   Ning is in the process of updating the mobile site but it doesn't show events so I've temporarily disabled the whole thing.

I have a droid and have been using the desktop version and its been fine for me.

Check your phones and post your thoughts here.

I agree with Adam. It is (was?) also much lighter to load

I'm on an iphone and I have to say the mobile site is simply unusable--so much of the site in mobile version is unavailable and for what is available, it is not navigable. Since you have disabled the mobile site, I have had no problems using the full site on my iphone. It works very well.

Thanks everyone. Sol and jordan which iphone do you have?
I very much, dislike the iPhone app. And it's a pain to switch over to the desktop version because it is a small button. I am much happier now that it sends me straight to desktop

+1

The button to switch from one to the other should be prominent and easy to find to switch from desktop to the mobile, and then back again.  I usually just go to the url box and append /m or remove it because trying to do it via the browser and find some tiny microscopic button on the screen is impossible.

I have an old iphone 3GS.

In my experience using an Android phone, the old mobile site is easier to to read, but somewhat frustratingly limited. It would be nice if the mobile site included events and groups, or at least an easier way to switch to the desktop site to view these things. The new mobile site that was up briefly over the weekend didn't seem to work at all.
