Hello friends,
I am very sad to say my bike was missing (along with my roommates Cannondale) this morning. My boyfriend's bikes were left, along with my commuter Raleigh rush hour, and some other not as attractive frames. It was in my living room in my fourth floor loft space at 3036 n. lincoln. The bicycle that was stolen is the Felt F4 2010, size 52. It has mixed Sram components (Red levers, force crankset and derailer). The bars are white with white bar tape. The headset is black. The saddle is a specialized woman's carbon. Pedals are look. cables are white.
I filed with the police and chicago.stolenbike.org

That sucks so much. I hope your bike shows up and they catch the B&E jerk who did this.
It was stolen from your apartment?
I'm so sorry to hear. I had my bike stolen outside my office two years ago. It hurts a lot.
I found mine at the Swap - o -rama at 4200 s ashland. It's one of many places to go to look for your bike.
Sometimes Chainlinkers go to the swap to look for bikes listed on the stolen bike registry and call the rightful owner to come down and get their bike.
Maybe it's time to do another round? I can head down Saturday to look.
Lilly - I'd recommend if you go, also go during the week if you can.
Saturday & Sunday 7am to 4pm (Indoors & Outdoors)
Tuesday 7am to 2pm (Outdoors only)
Thursday 7am to 3pm (Outdoors only)
ditto. that felt seems easily recognizable. I will keep a lookout

Probably would be courteous to coordinate with her since she took the trouble to initiate.
I personally don't think these bikes are likely to turn up at Swap-O-Rama but any heat people can keep on that place is good heat (as long as nobody buys anything!!!)

Permalink Reply by lil on June 26, 2012 at 10:16am Thanks Michelle! I won't actually be able to go this weekend because i'm moving. If you could go and keep an eye out that would be ever appreciated. I have a friend going Saturday (he goes every weekend). Im definitely going to try next weekend. I really am not sure if it will end up there, the only things that appear to be missing are the two bikes. All electronics, music equipment, and 5 other bikes were left untouched. We also are on the 4th floor, the other three units in the building were left alone (so it seems). Im starting to suspect it was an inside job...

Permalink Reply by lil on June 26, 2012 at 10:23am just wanted to thank everyone for being so nice. if everyone was this awesome i guess i wouldn't be looking for my bike (haha). I won't be able to go to the swap until next week & weekend. If anyone could make it down there and take a look i would greatly appreciate it. I did also file a police report if that helps. If you go down there you can message me for contact info. I can send pictures of my bike or keep in touch. I really really appreciate all of this. You guys help me stay positive <3

-which is a more horrifying and violating proposition than having the bike stolen in the first place. It might be time to re-key your locks...
