Chicago Cyclists' Cyber Common Ground
The WGNTV News team created an entire week's-worth of videos and articles in conjunction with Bike-to-Work Week, found here. Awesome coverage. We get a glimpse of a van-turned-bike shop interior while Ethan makes a cameo in his spankin' red helmet.
I think WGN's approach is lock-step with the broader push to make cycling more accessible to the masses. First they devote lots of air time to the consumer goods and services necessary for bike riding. (Since shopping is a pretty prevalent activity and being bike-less is an inherent barrier to riding.) Then they give you an outlet for finding people to ride with or learn from, featuring AT, The Chainlink, and Bike Buddies (which, I believed, incubated in this forum?). Maybe in the future they'll give press to any of the multitude of teams and organizations using the bike to grow stronger communities and a better city.
