Lighting on Lake Front Path at Fullerton. Are we getting some?

Did anyone else see the big light bulbs getting attached to posts just north of Fullerton on the lakefront path? Are we actually getting some light on that dark stretch between Fullerton and Diversey? What a pleasant surprise. I can't wait to check it out tonight on my ride home.

It was seriously dark there when I rode home Fri. night.  Like going-off-the-path-dark.  This would be a welcome development!

The better to see the stealth joggers wearing fashionably all-black outfits.

Short answer: yes!

See the deets in this September post on Grid Chicago:

They were not yet on when I rode home tonight, though!

It would be nice if they install lamps that dont put off so much light pollution. Some downward pointing LED lamps would be nice (although they can be prone to heat issues).

The Adler Planetarium has a small secton on light pollution that inspired this post.
