Permalink Reply by Steven Vance on January 5, 2013 at 3:25pm You may have noticed more and more bike shops in Chicago are carrying Abus locks. They are excellent locks. I use the Abus Bordo Granit X-Plus lock on my WorkCycles Fr8 (a Dutch bike).

Permalink Reply by Sarah D. 1-3.3 on January 6, 2013 at 1:30am CV = curriculum vitae, or a Euro/academic version of the résumé.
My question is, I wonder what the salary range is...? Searched their website for more info - that was interesting. Looks like a big company.

Permalink Reply by Anne Alt on January 6, 2013 at 11:17am It can vary quite a bit, depending on the size and structure of the office. What you're describing is one version of an office manager position, where there is a separate financial manager position of some sort.
Another version is highly dependent on skills such as basic bookkeeping, managing office supply inventory and ordering, handling service contracts (copier, etc.), payroll/payroll taxes, etc.

Full Time office manager.
Acitivities will vary from job to job, but can include most activities typically done in an ofice: mail, order entry, invoicing, answering the phone, etc. Most sucessful candidates rely more on attitude and aptitude than specific skils.

Permalink Reply by Tricolor on January 6, 2013 at 2:33pm It depends if you're managing the office yourself or are managing the people that manage a larger office. Any kind of office management's always going to have a lot of variety, always be busy and often be stressful. But if you really have a knack for organization and passion for personal service service it can be very satisfying.
Permalink Reply by Anne Alt on January 6, 2013 at 8:01pm That salary might be right for the "glorified receptionist" end of the skill/duty range. Since the description doesn't talk about specific skills, that may be what it is.

Permalink Reply by Jennifer on the lake on January 6, 2013 at 9:37pm OK... where else is the job posted? I don't feel like whoring myself out to Facebook just yet. Seems like everyone is describing stuff that I'm pretty much currently doing, just for far less money and in an academic setting.
