Well, if the manufacturer covers it under warantee, I will ride the Schwinn until it arrives - on a slow boat from England. If not, welding or brazing a new plate on would work. Anyone know a welder near Buena/Montrose and Sheridan/Broadway? And, yes, the Schwinn is too small for me. 'Twas my son's bike that is now mine.

Grrrr.... indeed!
Can the frame be attended to, brazing?Nice to see the '54 bike back in action. It looks like it might be a tiny to an 1/8" small though?

I grabbed a couple of shots whilst on a mid day ride through Hill and Dale. Sorry about the poor orientation of the photos, but if you look closely, you will see a couple of deer that I had to alert with a little ring of my bell.
I say a total of 2 hikers, one jogger and one dog. Very stress relieving!

Permalink Reply by Lanterne Rouge on April 26, 2012 at 12:04pm I crawled. Wind sucks.
But, the upshot is that I can fly on the way home. It's your turn to go into the headwind, Serge!

Permalink Reply by Gerry G on April 30, 2012 at 9:11pm Managed 29 of 30 for April, had a day trip to Indianapolis. Nothing to do with hard core, just state of mind, entrainment. Finished up with a terrific practice paceline ride tonight. Sponsored by CCC, Rich does an amazing job teaching/instructing. For a commuter it's a treat to ride with others, and they were great bike handlers too. This ride is every Monday depart at 6:30 P.M. from Lincoln and California.
