Permalink Reply by Serge Lubomudrov on March 27, 2012 at 10:33am Much, much nicier today :)
Permalink Reply by Katie on March 27, 2012 at 10:55am I rode to Chicago and State to count bike commuters for the DOT. Cold.
Permalink Reply by Apie (10.6) on March 27, 2012 at 12:35pm I used the "map my ride" app today, pretty cool, and free! The wind was strong, so I stayed in 1st gear most of the way. Not very fast, but a workout! (riding a 1969 schwinn racer 3spd)
Check out my route in Chicago! http://soc.li/UwtAmpB
Permalink Reply by Anne B. on March 27, 2012 at 9:15pm Second day commuting on my new (used) bike- great day for it. Stopped in at Comrade Cycles for some adjustments and the guy there was awesome and full of thrifty advice. Also, I stopped at a 4-way stop for a pedestrian (after having kind of a "you go, no you go, I insist" politeness battle) and he apologized saying that he's a cyclist and hates to make people stop when they don't have to. Nice!
On the other hand, the Damen/Fullerton/Elston intersection seemed even crazier than usual. Got off and walked through on the crosswalk/sidewalk because I didn't want to deal with it. That intersection brings out the worst in everyone and the coward (err, self-preservationist) in me.

Kudos on the '69 steel Andy. Katie, atta girl, Shamrock shuffling in between rides. Then more bike time Monday and Tuesday. Tim if I had only known?! I'd have driven by and voted six or seven times. ; ) Jeff the contrast and effort, morning to evening were huge as you predicted. Plus air temps jumped too. Serge no pics?
You're really cultivating your skills Gene. LFP A.M. an P.M. The rides were fantastic but I just don't see it the way you capture and share it here, on a daily basis. On Sundays Architecture ride led by Lee Diamond, there was a young lady who capably pointed out all the colorful blooming flora. It was as if we were on different rides. I was blown away how fast she could point out and identifying spring bloomers.
So it's a treat to ride the LFP, then see it again through your shots.
Terrific balance:
