It was so warm! I was wearing just the minimum jacket (and was so warm) and I rode home without gloves!

one warm day and only swimmers were missing on the lake front. Lance`s were back too. Is it a hormonal thing, or a suppressed desire of training outdoors ? :)

I did, and was almost doored for my effort.
The best part was the woman who almost doored me did so immediately after almost dooring a rider in front of me showing she truly was to stupid to learn.

I have that scenario happen to me at least once or twice a week- the driver of the car seems to think that there can't possibly be another cyclist behind the one they almost doored, and then proceeds to swing the door out even faster than they did before.
And yes, I rode today. Given that I was almost flattened by a truck making an illegal left turn yesterday, I almost didn't ride today. But, I sucked up my fears and here I am and I am happy I rode.

I know what the driver did was careless and illegal, but when you see someone open a door into traffic the first time, does it not occur to you alter your line at all?

I am sure that most everyone takes preventative measures when they see a door opening and almost dooring the cyclist in front of them, but it is the idea that so many drivers just do not even bother to check to see if anyone else is coming that drives me nuts. I do alter my line, btw, and usually end up either in the middle of the traffic lane or end up stopped because I can't take the lane with traffic in it, and then waiting for the person to get out of their car.

I was on Armitage by the 'L' tracks where it gets tight and had no where to go. I had slowed down otherwise she would have doored me.

I got out the door early today, the traffic is so much better if I leave before 7:45 than if I leave after that. Managed not to get too warm today either, figured out the layering for 40 degrees, now I just have to figure out some other temps.

I'm tempted to make a chart sometimes, as getting it wrong can be pretty annoying. I wonder if there is a simpler way. Perhaps
Dress as if you were just going to sit outside in the park and it was 20 degrees warmer.
2. Yes - during the morning rush leaving even a few minutes earlier seems to make a huge difference. My current gig is pretty much 9-5 with little flexibility about it - I can come in early, which I do, and that helps, but I still need to stay until 5, which is the worst possible time to be on a bike downtown.
