Permalink Reply by Sarah D. 1-3.3 on January 11, 2013 at 2:34am Hey, yours came with silver pedal cranks? I'm bummed - I have the robin's egg blue model (bought in '12) and it's got black cranks. Boo.
Permalink Reply by TehDoak on January 11, 2013 at 5:05am Sarah: I bought just the bare frame and am building it up from scratch. I'd actually prefer black but I got a great deal on the groupset which included the crank, so I'm not complaining

Have fun with the build - and the cross-check!

Permalink Reply by TehDoak on January 12, 2013 at 12:24am A bit more progress tonight. Heading over to west town bikes open shop tomorrow to finish up some tweaking, lubricating, hopefully finishing the build. I learned alot about how NOT to cable a bike tonight (pretty much made every mistake you could make along the way) but its now shifting (though, the H/Ls are way off and the Front Mech is downshifting way too hard) and the brakes are no wear NEAR ready to stop anything. Hopefully an hour or two more tweaking, then a few hours hooking up fenders, etc and it'll be good for monday.
Permalink Reply by Kelvin Mulcky on January 12, 2013 at 11:10am On high-profile cantilevers you'll need to raise the straddle cable point a little bit more than you have it set up in the picture. Also, make sure you file the housing ends flat for the best shifting and braking performance.
Permalink Reply by TehDoak on January 12, 2013 at 8:25pm Thanks to everyone at west town bikes for the help in getting my bike setup today. Spent quite a bit of time adjusting. Mostly done. Need to get a bit more adjusting done tomorrow and wrap the handlebars, and install the computer. Will post a finished pic once its done.
