Help for current best route to Vertical Endeavors and Two Brothers - anyone interested in climbing then drinking

Hello Chainlinkers,

I am wondering what the best current route to take out to Warrenville and if anyone would be interested in riding out there to go to Vertical Endeavors to go climbing and then to Two Brothers for some beer before riding back?

I've read good things about the Illinois Prairie Path and the DuPage River Trail, but don't really know a good way to get them from the city. Sometimes these bike route programs take me on roads that are not so ideal, so a little out of the way for a more fun ride is always preferred. I don't think riding Ogden all the way out would be that much fun especially with gear etc...I know others have posted some routes but some are fairly old and I am looking for more of a less Argo ride through cars speeding past me. Starting point I guess depends on who and how many might want to join. I'd probably leave from South Loopish or near Douglas Park.

VE is about 4 milesish from Two Brothers.

So any possible belay buds or new climbers thinking this doesn't sound totally stupid wanna join or anyone with previous riding out to Warrenville got the better know how for the route - please join or help if inclined.

thanks
Nate

Yes! I'd love to go. I miss climbing, as I lost my old trips-to-Devils-Lake climbing group a few years ago and just haven't gotten around to finding new people to climb with. I'd been thinking of driving to VE some time soon, but a ride would be great.

David same thing happened to me. I've been bouldering at the old fitplex FFC old town and hidden peaks, but I really miss sport with a belay, top rope, learning how to lead etc. my belay buds have all moved to Florida (Pan handle not peninsula) like a bad blues song.

Oh and by Chris ... I mean Cameron. Not to try and use some creepy juju and transfer someone's bum ankle to another.

Bummer to hear about your ankle Chris and you're probably right about too much riding before climbing. I like the idea of using the blue line at Forest Park as a meet up point for everyone before biking out to either VE or rock bottom. groundhog's day is on a Saturday (feb 2), this gives some time for Chris's ankle to mend and maybe some more time to get some more people. Hey maybe we can bike the Red and get a slice at Miguel's. what do folks say to the 2nd? And what time to start?

I haven't done anything at all since then, so I'm rather out of it! I injured my ankle in a crash a year-and-some ago but it's fine now, but I'll probably always have to be extra-mindful of it if I do something like climb. I've actually never been on an indoor wall.

If you want to, we could climb at FFC old town so you get used to an indoor wall and then grab a beer at the Pourhouse or some other place nearby.
