Help Equiticity Protest Discrepancies in Bike Citations at the Next Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Council

"Earlier this month the Chicago Tribune’s Mary Wisniewski reported that, almost a year after she first uncovered massive discrepancies in the number of bike citations written in African-American communities versus majority-white ones, new numbers show that little has changed. For example, in 2017 police wrote 397 bike citations in North Lawndale while – for the second year in a row – only five tickets were issued in Lincoln Park."
Equiticity is asking people to wear black and attend the next City of Chicago Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Council meeting to protest:
3-5pm, Wednesday, March 7

Thanks for the heads up. I might attend the meeting to ask why they're not writing citations for parking in the bike lanes. The entire police force in North Lawndale wrote 397 citations to cyclists working 365x24, and yet a handful of us have manage to document over 1000 parking violations in the past year in only a few minutes a day.
