The Chainlink

Chainlinkers:

Here is an incredible opportunity.  Organizations can receive federal funding to tackle environmental problems.  Can you think of any groups or individuals doing this kind of work who could use financial support?  Please post them to this thread.  Spread the word.  Contact me for help in applying for the grants.

Thanks!

Melissa

Here is the official release:

EPA's Environmental Justice 2012 grant solicitation is now open and will close on February 29, 2012. Applicants must be incorporated non-profits or tribal organizations working to educate, empower and enable their communities to understand and address local environmental and public health issues.

The Environmental Justice Small Grants Program (EJSG) provides funding for eligible applicants for projects that address local environmental and public health issues within an affected community. The EJSG Program is designed to help communities understand and address exposure to multiple environmental harms and risks.

What types of projects are eligible for funding? Under this Request For Applications (RFA), EPA will award grants that support activities designed to educate, empower and enable communities to understand environmental and public health issues and to identify ways to address these issues at the local level under specific statutes.

The long-term goals of the EJSG program are to help build the capacity of communities with environmental justice concerns and create self-sustaining, community-based partnerships that will continue to improve local environments in the future.

EPA will host four pre-application teleconference calls on December 15, 2011, January 12, 2012, February 1, 2012 and February 15, 2012 to help applicants understand the requirements.

Environment Justice Small Grants 2012 Request for Proposals and schedule of pre-application teleconference calls can be found at:
