Permalink Reply by Jeff K on December 9, 2011 at 9:59pm People DEMAND salt on the roads when there's a paper-thin layer of snow? Really?
Weird.

Permalink Reply by kiltedcelt on December 10, 2011 at 7:28pm I found the street in front of my apartment and going to the LFP to be completely iced over as well as dusted with that light layer of snow. The ride on the LFP was okay once I passed a salt truck a little north of 47th. However, once I got past Navy Pier I noticed that the city had not done anything to salt or otherwise clear the path running north at least as far as Fullerton. Frankly, I was a bit scared riding that section until I got past the Oak Street curve. I kept expecting to hit some ice followed by sliding down the slope and into the lake. Guess I need to get some studded tires now.
